| Persons or objects that need special protection against fragments, can be protected with a film from 100µ thickness in accordance with EN 12 600 (corresponds to the German DIN 52 337). These films are available for internal or external applications. The films form a fragment barrier between persons and glass. A particularly strong adhesive ensures that the window does not break in a thousand pieces (such as laminated security glass), so that injuries resulting from shattered glass can be prevented. Because of explosions in the proximity of buildings, shattered glass is the main cause for material damage as well as for injuries and deaths. Safety and Security Films
Window glazing can be the weakest point of any building, but replacing existing windows with safety or security-type glass can be an expensive project, and very disruptive to the day- to-day running of any business. LLumar performance safety and security film is a cost-affective way to upgrade existing glass. It can be installed with minimal disruption, and has stood the test of time in terms of longevity, durability and performance. Most Llumar performance safety and security films are warranted for up to 10 years, with a real life LLumar performance safety and security film is manufactured in the Uk, and is the result of extensive research, development and testing. The product is manufactured from optically clear, low haze, biaxially orientated Mylar or Melinex polyester film, by DuPont Teijin Films. The films are produced in different thicknesses and constructions, to provide a choice of solutions to:
If you also suffer from the unwanted solar heat-gain of glare within the building, then LLumar performance films can also provide effective solar control, combined with the required levels of safety and security
In terms of fire safety, Llumar performance safety film satisfies:
The use of anti-shatter film is a Home Office recommendation, in regard to bomb blast protection for buildings and their occupants: please refer to the LLumar Anti-Shatter Films Specification information sheet, or contact the Technical Helpline for specialist advice. |

| Safety & Security |

In today’s world, safety and security are high on the political agenda, and taking appropriate precautions is now more important than ever.
CPFilms is one of the first window film manufacturers to have their safety and security film impact tested to BS EN 12600 (which supersedes BS 6206). These tests have been successfully undertaken on a wide range of glazing types and glass thicknesses. BS EN 12600 impact test results are detailed in the LLumar Specifiers Guide.
